7.1　Plating

7.1.1　FRP single skin, aluminium alloy, steel construction

P_r is the applicable design pressure, kN/m².

b is the shorter edge of plate panel, in millimetres;

l is the longer edge of plate panel, in millimetres;

f_k is the correction factor for curved panels. For curved panels of the hull, the thickness of the plating may be reduced by multiplying the basic thickness with correction factor fk (see Table 7);

E_f is the flexural modulus, N/mm².

κ₁ is the coefficient for allowable deflection as given (see 6.1,Table 5);

κ₂ is the coefficient, panel aspect ratio, for bending strength (see Table 6);

κ₃ is the coefficient, panel aspect ratio, for bending stiffness (see Table 6);
