3.3.3 Scope of the Project
1) Layout drawing for the yard
Fig.3.3.1 shows the layout of the projected site. The yard being planned is made with consideration of existing topographic feature and the safety approach of ships to the dock.
2) Scope of the project
a) Site preparation
The condition of projected site is the tidal flat and its height seems to be CDL±0.0.
b) Reclamation and Dredging
The present ground level seems to be CDL±0.0. Taking the high tide of 1.90m into consideration, the planned ground level would be 2.5 to 3.0 and so the projected yard must be reclaimed. The reclamation material would be secured by dredged material for building the mooring area and fairway.
c) Construction of storehouses, yard building and annexed buildings to the yard
Storehouses for useful and high valued articles, such as re-utilizing articles, machines, tools, etc., non-ferrous metal scraps. Dissolving yard for collecting non-ferrous metals. Store house for working machines and tools, combined with repair and maintenance shop. Office (managing center) mess room, locker room, bathroom, lavatory and so on.
d) Construction of wharf and dry dock
As shown by Fig.3.3.2, the wharf with the length of about 530m and with water depth of -7m is to be constructed. The dry dock with the length of 65m x 350m and the bottom level of-8.5m is to be constructed. The gate of the dry dock would be a type of ship, by which a dry condition in the dock would be possible.
e) Construction of anti-pollution facilities
Oil treatment plant with tank capacity of 300 liter is to be constructed.
f) Arrangement of utilities
Arrangement of supply of utilities, such as electricity, water, gas etc.
g) Provision of yard facilities and equipment
Goliath crane with lifting capacity of 100kg for operation of dry dock, a traveling vehicles such as a crawler crane, fork lift, truck, trailer, dump car and so on are to be installed.
h) Re-rolling factory
Re-rolling factory with maximum product capacity of 10,000 ton/month is to be constructed. The facility is composed of the re-rolling mill, building of the factory and the utilities. The construction schedule would depend on the progress of technology transfer of scrapping and re-rolling.
i) Engineering services required to the above-mentioned scopes
The consultant would make a detail design of the dock and wharf, propose a procurement plan of equipment for overall scrapping job, design of re-rolling factory and oil treatment plant and so on.
