1 Introduction
This report covers the period of time between WG 18's meeting in Kista, Sweden in October 1996, and a meeting held in Aberdeen, July 1998.
2 Members
WG 18 consists of 14 members, of which five are corresponding members. Two members from the U.S.A are appointed experts, but communication with them has never been achieved - there is simply no reply. The experts from Germany and the Netherlands have left the WG without any replacement. Only seven of those 14 members are for the time being involved in the work of WG 18.

In the reporting period, four meetings have been held：
