(4) As for the construction period, about two years are necessary before the device installation and wiring, including one year for manufacturing electric devices. For the portions which interact with civil structures and the like, at least three months are necessary after the completion of the civil engineering infrastructures and track.

 

10.5 Vehicles

 

Two years will be sufficient for procurement of 46 sets of cars after the completion of vehicles specifications.

 

10.6 Comments

 

(1) Summarizing the above discussion presented in the section 10.2 〜 10.5, the construction schedule shown in Fig. 10.1-1, seems very tight.

In order to shorten the construction schedule as much as possible, period for financing arrangement should be minimized as much as possible. Further number of laboures and cast in-site pile machines will have to be increased depending on necessity.

(2) Selection of contractor/manufacturers

In Fig. 3.3-1, method of selection of contractor and manufacturers, namely bidding method or direct nomination method are not clear. If the selection of contractor, or manufacturers of system equipment is made through bidding process (namely bidding, evaluation and selection), the bidding process itself will require about 6 months. If UBTSL selects the contractor/manufactures through direct nomination, these 6 months could be unnecessary. This aspect should be reflected in Fig. 3.1-1.

(3) Securing the sufficient number of workers

For the SCTH Flyover CW, 250 workers per shift or 750 workers (250 workers per shift x 3 shifts) per day are employed.

If this project adopts the working system of SCTH Flyover CW as is, it requires 11 work bases x 750 workers per day = 8,250 workers per day, though some workers can be assigned to two or more categories of work. It is necessary,
