(4) Trackwork Special
(a) Turnout on main line
As giver in 6.3.2(5)(a)
(b) Number of turnouts and diamond crossings
As giver in 6.3.2(5)(b)
With respect to Binnamangala Junction, track layout will be as shown in Fig. 6.3-3. Accordingly, number of No. 10 turnouts, No. 5 split turnouts, No. 5 diamond crossings will be as shown in Table 9.3.3-5.
(5) Contact Rail
(a) According to Bangalore ELRTS plan, electric current will be collected from the underside of contact rail. However, in Japan, electric current is collected from upper side of contact rail as shown in Fig. 7.4-1 which is adopted by Tokyo Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority (TKFA).
With respect to cost for contact rail, it was estimated based on Japanese system.
(b) Total length of contact rail is assumed as 25 .9 km x 2 for main line and 5.8 km for depot track.
9.2.4 Systems
9.2.4-1 Traction Power Supply
(1) Substation
Substations receive AC power from a commercial power source and supply 750V DC to the traction power feeding system and 6.6kv AC to the facility power distribution system. Each substations will equip with the switch-gears ,transformers, rectifiers and other facilities and maintain the security of power systems.
(2) Switching house
A switching house will be placed at the branch from the 750V traction power feeding system to the rolling stock base, to maintain the security of the feeding system of the rail vehicle base.
(3) Substation interval
The voltage of the traction power distribution system will drop when trains consume power. The maximum substation interval (km) wi1l take into account future system.
9.2.4-2 Signal and Telecommunications Equipment
We estimated the costs of signal and telecommunications equipment based on the costs as evaluated by a consultant and the bid price for a project in southeastern Asia of a scope similar to the system
