(3) Examination of Sleeper Spacing
UBTSL is proposing 1400〜1200 pieces of PC sleepers per km. From the view point of strength of track structure to adequately support the 75 km/h LRT train running sleeper spacings corresponding to 1400〜1200 pieces of PC sleepers per km, namely 71.4〜83.3 cm were examined.
Detailed examination is given in Appendix 9.2.3-1. Examination shows that each sleeper spacing of 83.3 cm (1200 pieces per km), 76.9 cm (1300 pieces per km) and 71.4 cm (1400 pieces per km) will be allowed for supporting LRV train running at 75 km/h for the red line having annual gross passing tonnage of about 24 million ton per track (in the year 2021). Considering lessening of track maintenance work, sleeper spacing of 71.4 cm (1400 pieces per km) was adopted for this review work.
