(d) We assumed extension of Green and Red lines and construction of Blue and Yellow lines as shown in Figure 3.1-5.
(e) A feed room shall be prepared at Binamangala in Phase 1, where a vehicle depot will be constructed, to supply power to the line branching to the vehicle depot
For train operation in Phase 1, substations shall be installed near the following stations.
Substation A: RPC Layout
Substation B: Navarang Junction
Substation C: Near the bus stand in the vicinity of the City railway station
Substation D: Mayo Hall
Substation E: CMH Road
Feed room: Binamangala
Figure 3.1-2 shows the approximate locations of substations in Phase 1, which shall be reviewed according to conditions of train operation when the train operation plan for the whole network will have been finalized. There shall be 16 substations along the entire route to maintain the standard distance between substations.
(3) Major Substation Facilities
Under this plan, train operation will be disturbed if a substation has failed and feed voltage has dropped. Therefore, substations shall have a standby rectifier, two power receiving channels, and spare circuit breakers for feeding. Substations shall also have two power supply channels to prevent power interruption at stations and vehicle depot.
At the beginning substations shall have two 2,500 kW rectifiers, one for operation and another as standby. To operate four-car trains, one more 2,500 kW rectifier shall be added and two shall be used for operation and one as standby. For substation D near Mayo Hall station, which is referred to in (2), we plan to install five rectifiers in the future including one as standby and use them in common with the Yellow line that will be constructed later.
As a result, the total capacity of all substations for the entire route will be a maximum of 85 MW with equipment for normal operation and about 40 MW with redundant equipment.
7.4.4 Contact Rail
(1) Feeding Section
The contact rail system shall have a dead section before each substation to guarantee flexibility of train operation in the event an accident occurs on the main line, in the same way as in the Calcutta subway system, Rolling stock bases shall be equipped with a separate
