feeding system for maintenance and rotation of rolling Stock
The contact rail system shall be structure so as to separate the feeding system at branches to prepare for the extension of Lines which is planned for the future.
The dead section shall be longer than 12 m, or the distance between two adjacent current collection shoes, so that two contact rail sections are not connected to two current collection shoes when a train passes.
(2) Auxiliary Metals
To improve and maintain current collection performance, the contact rail system shall be equipped with the following auxiliary metals.
(a) End approaches: End approaches shall be installed at the ends of each contact rail section to prevent current collection shoes from riding on or separating from the contact rail.
(b) Expansion joins: Expansion joins shall be installed to absorb expansion or contraction of the contact rail due to temperature fluctuation.
(c) Anchoring: Each contact rail section shall be anchored at its center to prevent creep (longitudinal movement) due to gradients, the sliding force of current collection shoes and expansion or contraction caused by temperature fluctuation.
(d) Side incline: Side incline shall be installed at places where contact rails are laid continuously at branches or track crossings, to prevent current collection shoes from riding on the contact rail from the side.
(e) Protection plates: Contact rails shall be covered with plastic protection plates to preventmaintenance personnel from electrical shock and to prevent short circuits with foreign materials.
(3) Method of Laying Contact Rails
Contact rails shall be laid according to the following criteria
(a) Contact rails shall be laid on the side opposite the platform at stations.
(b) Contact rails shall be supported at intervals of 3 m or less.
7.4.5 Other
(1) ELRTS rolling stock is equipped with a regenerative brake system. The power regenerated by this system is to be consumed by other trains that are taking power. If no trains are taking power the voltage of contact rail raise and the power regeneration brake fails. This
