No. 10 turnout will be used on main track. No. of turnout can be defined by angle of crossing as follows:

(b) Number of turnouts and diamond crossings

Turnout on main track is No. 10 turnout as mentioned in 6.3.2 (5)(a) above.

Turnouts on station sidings for shuttle service of train will be No. 5 split turnout, as shown in the figure below:

With respect to Binnamangala Junction, track layout will be as shown in Fig. 6.3-3. Accordingly number of No. 10 turnouts, No. 5 split turnouts, No. 5 diamond crossings will be as shown in Table 9.3.3-5.

(c) Turnout in depots

No. of turnouts in depots is not clearly indicated by UBTSL. No. 8 turnout is suggested for tracks in depots.

 

6.3.3 Maintenance

 

(1) Track maintenance

Track maintenance plan is not yet ready by UBTSL. Accordingly the following track maintenance plan for Phase 1 is suggested for consideration by UBTSL.

 

Major track maintenance machines / equipment will be as shown in Table 6.3-1.
