4.2.5 Floating Population
The cordon line survey has not carried out in the 1994 feasibility study, The zoning system does not include an outside zone of the city area. The trips from the floating population assumed to be three percent of resident population were added to the category of "Other" trips instead of that. If it excludes the trips of cargo drivers from the outside or passing through the city, the number of trips in the city would be underestimated.
4.3 Result of Demand Forecast
4.3.1 Traffic Projections
The total daily trips in the year 2011 are estimated 7.96 million trips as shown in Table 4.3-1. They will be about twice as many as 4.10 million trips in 1994. Considering road traffic congestion at present, it is evident that the worst traffic situation will be expected without introducing mass transit system in Bangalore.
