愛知県立芸術大学、及び同大学院修了。作曲を石井歓氏に師事。92年度名古屋市芸術奨励賞受賞。主要作品として、向こう側、UNISON、Windows、Invention in Blue、4本のクラリネットのためのPOPがCD化されている。又、名古屋フィルハーモニー交響学団より委嘱された弦楽器・打楽器・ピアノと和太鼓のための「天・無・極」がある。現在、日本作曲家協議会、日本現代音楽協会各委員。日本女性作曲家連盟代表。名古屋芸術大学講師。
Kurimoto is one of the most outstanding composers active in Nagoya area. Graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music and completed in Graduate School of the same university. Studied composition with Kan Ishii. Her main works include "Mukougawa (The other side)" "Unison" "Windows", Invention in Blue", "POP for 4 clarinets" (available to a CD recording), and "Ten Mu Kyoku for strings, percussions, piano and Japanese drums", a commissioned work by Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra "Rebirth for string quartet" was composed in 1998 and premiered in Nagoya in the next year. The composer revisited and wrote this musical form after an interval of more than 20 years. The work was largely inspired by an artistic installation of Amano Jun, which has the same title "Rebirth~ and displayed in a exhibition in Nagoya. His installation, as if hands sprouted from the ground one after another and here and there, makes the composer feel "strength in humorousness".
琵琶と弦楽四重奏のための《バラード》(1998)は、唐代の著名な詩人白居易(772-846)の詩「琵琶行」に触発されて作曲された。この詩で白居易はある楽器奏者の暗い運命とそのヴィルトゥオジティを深く歌い上げている。作品は4度、長2度、5度の重ね合わせから作られているが、これは琵琶の調弦の音程(ラ、レ、ミ、ラ)に対応するものである。弦楽四重奏は琵琶の音楽を模倣し、やがて二種類の楽器が混ざり合うような雰囲気が作られる。それは中国と西洋の伝統のあいだで生じた交錯、混合である。スイスの演奏団体Quatuor du temps(クワトゥール・デュ・タン)による委嘱作品。

Ballade for Pipa and Str. Quartet
Composer De-Qing WEN was born in a small village of Sourthern China in 1958. He studied composition in China, Switzerland and France with Guo Zu-Rong. Shi Wan-Chun. Luo Zhong-Rong, Jean Ballisat and Gilbert Amy. His music is performed throughout Asia, South America and Europe. His works are published by SME Swiss Musical Edition. De-Qing WEN's CD is published by Stradivarius (Italy).
This ballad is inspired by "Pipa Songs" by the famous poet, Bai Juyi (772-846). In this poem the poet profoundly felt the bleak destiny and the virtuosity of an instrumentalist. The music is essentially based on the superposition of fourth, second major, and fifth intervals lilt in the tuning of a pipa in A, D, E, A. The string quartet imitates that of a pipa in it's play and thus creates an ambiance which intermingles two types of instruments. A mixture that finds itself between Chinese and occidental traditions. Commissioned by the Quatuor due temps (Switzerland).
Born 1921 in Vladivostok. Irino was one of the representative and the most outstanding composers in the latter half of the twentieth century in Japan. Among his numerous works, Chamber Concerto for 7 instruments written in 1951 is the most noteworthy because it was the first composition in Japan applied with 12 tone technique. In 1973, he contributed to the formation of Asian Composers League as one of the promoters and became an honorary member. He died in Tokyo in 1980 and since the next year Irino Prize for compositions of younger composers by JML and Irino Memorial Prize have been founded.
Fantasy after Koujou-no-Tsuki and Rokkyu Paraphrase were composed and premiered in 1979, Irino's last completed works. The theme of the Fantasy was Koujou-no-Tsuki (The moon over a ruined casde), a famous song composed by Taki Rentaro (1879-l903), while the paraphrase is based on Rokkyu", an art song composed by Kosaku Yamada (1886-1965).
