(1)Yochien or Hoikuen (Kindergarten) (Nursery School) Differences between Yochien and Hoikuen
April is the time of year when children enter Yochien or Hoikuen.
Most children go to Yochien or Hoikuen and there they start to enjoy their pre-school life.
Yochien and Hoikuen are similar but there are some differences between them.
Yochien provides care for children and helps develop their mind and body.
There are two kinds of Yochien; municipal and private.
Usually private ones require three-year attendance and municipal ones require two-year attendance.
Hoikuen is a facility at which parents or guardians can leave their children during the daytime while they are working. Each Hoikuen has its own principles, a common purpose of developing a healthy mind and body in your young children.
Yochien is usually finished by three o'clock.
Most Hoikuens provide care for children into the evening.
Some Yochiens will extend their hours if you pay the additional costs.
There are some very popular private Yochiens. If you would like your child to enter one of these, there is often a waiting list for application or your name will be drawn or maybe you will not be able to enter.
The fee for Yochien varies between municipal and private facilities. (You can be eligible to receive aid from the city if your child goes to a private Yochien.)
The fee for a Hoikuen depends on your income tax..
The pre-school period is significant for children, therefore it's important to get information on and visit various Yochien or Hoikuen before making a decision.
Yochien begins in April.
There are 18 municipal Yochien in Toyota city. Four and five-year old children who live in Toyota are eligible to enter. Under certain conditions, three-year olds may also enter.
Some Yochien will extend their hours of child care.
There are 15 private Yochien and children living within and outside of Toyota are eligible for these Yochien.
Fees are differ at each Yochien. Inquire at the specific Yochien if you have questions.
