1. TITLE: Marine Environment Protection
SCOPE: Standardization of marine pollution abatement materials, equipment and technologies and environmental matters to be used in shipbuilding and operation of ships, comprising sea-going ships, vessels for inland navigation, offshore structures, ship-to-shore interface and all other marine structures subject to International Maritime Organization requirements.

5. PROGRAM OF WORK
.1 Published standards
ISO 16165, Standard terminology relating to environmental response.
ISO 16446, Oil spill booms-Adaptor for joining dissimilar connectors

.2 Mechanical equipment for oil spill response - skimmers, (CD 17897)
It was decided at the June 2001 meeting of SC2 that no further work would take place on these CD documents until questions surrounding approved new work item proposal (AWI 21072 -Test and certification of oil barriers and oil skimmers) are resolved.

WG 3 agreed to meet in London, UK, 2002-09-26/27 to work on AWI 21072
SC 2 agreed to hold it's next meeting in Hamburg, Germany in June 2003.

9. ANY OTHER MATTERS OF IMPORTANCE TO ISO/TC 8
A review/prioritization of the "possible proposals for new work items" contained in ISO/TC 8 N 1000 R6 was performed by SC 2 at it's meeting in Oslo. Changes were made to the Draft N 1000 R7 and returned to Secretary of TC 8.
