SYLFF Program:
Fellowships are offered to master's and doctoral degree students with high potential for future leadership in international affairs, to prepare them for key positions in their future careers.
 
Selection Process:
Selection is based on the following criteria: academic achievements, business and other experience, evidence of potential for leadership roles, reports from referees, and financial need. There are three levels of fellowships dependent on the merit and needs of recipients. Recipients are most often awarded US$1200-7500. The number and amounts of fellowships vary from year to year.

SYLFF Program:
A wide range of courses are supported under this program, which covers the legal, economic, political and cultural aspects of international society, regional cooperation with an emphasis on Western Europe, and Japan studies.
 
Selection Process:
SYLFF fellowships are announced in the university newsletter. Applicants must have earned the master's degree or be about to complete a master's program. The proposed research plan must include a minimum of three months' research in a foreign country. To date twenty-four (24) fellowships have been awarded.
