EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
MTU supplies propulsion systems for land, marine and railroad applications, as well as energy supply installations. The company's products across all of these applications include diesel engines in the power range 40-7,400 kW, gas engines with an output between 130-1,320 kW and gas turbines between 3-44MW. In addition MTU supplies drive shafts for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles as well as injection systems for diesel, heavy-oil and gas engines.
MTU has been manufacturing in Friedrichshafen for nearly 80 years, where it employs around 5,000 people. In 1999 MTU achieved sales of 46,991 million Yen.
