ISMA Code、ISM Code及びISO9002の要件の比較

Standards Compared

The differing requirements of three standard-driven initiatives are identified by the accompanying table. These are;

・ISMA's comprehensive Code of Shipmanagement Standards (which encompasses all the principles of ISO9002 and the ISM Code);

・The tried and trusted ISO9002 quality standard-part of the ISO 9000 series that is being followed by numerous manufacturing and service companies world-wide; and

・The IMO's ISM Code- a safety management standard that forms part of the latest revision of the SOLAS Convention and will become mandatory for operators of many ship types from July 1998 (mandatory since July 1996 for passenger ro-ro ferries calling at EU ports).

・In addition to the greater definition provided under process control, the user friendliness of the ISMA and ISM standards compared with ISO is also demonstrated by referring to the specific references made to such requirements as technical support, cargo handling and cargo care, safety and environmental protection measures. The table shows that the ISMA Code is the most comprehensive of the various standards.
