His Flute Concerto was commissioned by the Biennale Neue Musik Hannover where its premiere was given on May 27th, 1 999. The work is dedicated to the flutist C. Levine and the cond, actor R. HP. Platz, the performers in the premiere. It was premiered m Japan by Dogen Kinowaki playmg the flute and the composer himself (cond. actor) on July 1st the same year, in the recital "D.Kinowaki Flute Performance," held as a part of the music festival "Summer in Tokyo." The quintet proceeds from the "Tuning" scene to "Music", when the flutist interrupts with "Mozart." The cond. actor and the flutist fight with each other for the control of the quintet, leading to the cadenze [or cadenzas] by both. Which would win this game?!
