朴在烈

アリラン

　

1930年韓国生まれ。延世大学で学士号、修士号、クリーヴランド大学で修士号取得。ミュンヘン音楽大学でも研鐙を積んだ。交響曲、室内音楽、合唱曲、オペラなど数百曲を作曲。「合唱編曲法」、「オペラ作曲法」などの著作もある。韓国国家作曲賞の受賞者。62〜99年延世大学音楽校の学部教授、現在延世大学名誉教授。

韓国の伝統的な民謡から題材を得たこの歌は、西洋的な作曲技法を用いて作曲された。78年Seon-Myung-Whoe少年少女合唱団の委嘱で作曲され、その世界ツアーコンサートで初演され、BBC後援の世界合唱コンクールで第1位を受賞。その後、この歌は、4声部の混声合唱曲に改訂され、以後多くの合唱団によって歌われている。

　

PARK Jae-yul

Jurgsun Arirang

　

Jae-yu Park was born in 1930 in Korea. He took B.A., M.M. in Yonsei University and M.A. in Cleveland University. Also he had studied at Hochschule fur Musik in Mlinchen. He composed some hundred of works which include Symphonies, Chamber musics Chorus and Operas. He wrote some works; <Choral arraging>, <Choral arranging>, <0pera composition> and etc. He was a winner of the Korean National Composition Prize. He has been a faculty member of the College of Music at Yonsei University from 1962 to 1999 and now is a professor of Emeritus at Yonsei University.

Exposition of Jung-Sun Arirang: This song which subject from Korean traditional folk song is recomposed to use with western method of composition. This was composed in 1978, commissioned by Seon-Myung-Whoe boy & girl's Chorus, played at its world tour concert and won the first prize in The World Choral Competition sponsored by BBC. Later, this song revised for four part mixed chorus and then this is sung by many choirs.

　

　

陳嘉年

カルラの詩

　

1949年香港生まれ。65年カナダに移住。ブリティッシュ・コロンビア大学でJ.クールサールド、インディアナ大学でB.ハイデンに作曲を師事。83年インディアナ大学で音楽博士号を取得。ベラ・バルトーク国際作曲コンクール、バールロー国際コンクール、国際ホルン協会コンテストなど数々の国際的な賞を受けている。トロント大学助教授。82年から音楽理論と作曲を教えている。

カナダ音楽2000プロジェ外で用いるテキストを探していたとき、11歳の少女カルラ・ハルテンベルガーが書いた詩を見せられ、彼女の詩の鋭さや純真さ、豊かな想像力に魅了された。彼は同世代の娘たちのために、彼女たちを表わす作品を書きたかったのだ。ある少女の目を通してみつめた世界のなかで、彼女が次第に大人になっていく様子(「お母さんのおやすみの抱擁」で始まり「私は戦争に行けない」で終わる)が、作品構造に反映するように詩は選ばれ、配列された。作曲家は、この作品を21世紀の子供たちに捧げたいとしている。

彼女は、長年、アジアの楽器の研究に携わり、東洋と西洋の香りがするいくつかの作品で、伝統的な西洋の楽器と並置させて用いた。民謡の編曲、芸術歌曲、合唱曲、室内楽、そしてオーケストラ作品など200曲の作品を書いてきた。フィリピン文化センターのパフォーミング・アーツの総裁・監督。フィリピン女子大学芸術学校の名誉教授でもある。音楽教育国際協会理事会委員。現在、フィリピン作曲家連盟およびアジア作曲家連盟の委員長、フィリピン・ナショナル・ミュージック・カウンシル総裁、バイアニハン民俗芸術センターの音楽監督、文化活動ユネスコ委員会、フィリピンのユネスコ国内委員会の委員長。アジア、アメリカ、南米、アフリカ、ヨーロッパ、オーストリアヘの多数のフィリピン文化派遣団を統率してきた。イタリア、オーストリア、アメリカの世界的なピアノコンクールの国際審査員。フィリピンで最も表彰されている作曲家で、内外のさまざまな機関、文化・市民団体から多数の賞を受けている。

Maligayang Bati

　

Dr. Kasilag has long planserd in the research and use of Asian musical instruments, juxtaposed with orthodox, Western instruments, in several works with Eart-West flavor. She has written 200 works ranginging through folksong arrangements, art songs, choral, chamber and orchestral works. President and director for the performing arts, Cultural Center of the Philippines. She is also dash emaritus of the College of Music and Fine Arts, Philippine Women's University. She has served on the board of directors of the international Society for Music Education. She is chairman of the League of Pilipino Comporsers and the Asian Composers' League; president National Music Council of the Philippines; music director of Bayanihan Folk Arts Center; and chairman of the UNESCO Committee on Cultural Activities, UNESCO National Commission on the Philippines. She headed many Philippine cultural delegations to Asia, USA, South America, Africa, Europe and Australia. She served in the jury for competitions in piano in Italy, Australia and USA. She is the Philippines' most decorated composer and has received numerous awards from various governments, cultural and civic organizations here and abroad.
