Report on the Use of PLUTOcen-F on "LILAC" Owned by SHIN-NIHONKAI FERRY
Hisao SHIMIZU*
ABSTRACT
The active compound incorporated in PLUTOcen Products is the ironorganic compound ferrocene. Ferrocene is a fuel improver reactivating of the catalytic activity.
By dosing PLUTOcen-F in H.F.O., fuel combustion process improves, and results in the reduction of soot amount, and the change of physical structure of soot to a dryer, sorer structure.
The effects was to minimize wear on piston rings and cylinder line and to reduce consumption of system oil, to keep clean nozzle ring and blade of T/C, combustion chamber of M/E, BOILER and E.G.E.
Key Words: PLUTOcen-F, LILAC, Shinnihonkai Ferry, Combustion Improver, Soot Reduction
1. INTRODUCTION
Dosing unit was installed on the subject vessel in January 1998 while she was in dock, and the fuel improver, PLUTOcen-F has been used ever since with good results. The following is the report on the effect of PLUTO-cen F with the data obtained during the docking in January 1999, one year after the introduction of PLUTOcen-F.
2. MIXING POINT
PLUTOcen-F mixing and dosing unit is connected at point A. PLUTOcen-F, in proportion to the quantity ot H.F.O. supplied to SETT. TANK, is transported to SETT. TANK using 7] while 2] is operating. From SETT. TANK, it is supplied to main engine, generator and boiler which use H.F.O.
