Especially in case of build the expert system it will be difficult to have our joint works an expert with ignorant of computer technology.

5. EXPERIMENT OF C.E-SYS

Actually, this experiment was carried out by installed CE-SYS prototype-1 in the control room and the classroom of college training ship "Yuge maru". The system configuration of prototype figure of block and hard copy of real screen indication of trial product was shown Figure-4 and 5 respectively. The specification of the prototype system is just to show as follows.

・CPU: Note type PC(Toshiba)

・Development Language: Visual VASIC

・Voice Recognize Module: Via Voice (IBM)

・Target: Engine start procedure (T.S. Yuge-maru)

・Data base: create by hand

・User mental model tuning by skill: beginner

Concentration check: The message is regularly generated.

Reliability check: not implemented

We constructed the system temporarily with a microphone loud speaker in the control room on the control console top and experimented on practicable use to help operations of the main engine operation procedure. Additionally, the notebook-sized personal computer was put on a table in the student classroom, and a head set microphone was used, and the simulation experiment was done. First as for the experiment the noise environment in a "Yuge maru" engine control room the noise (about 65 dB) in under way at full speed and in the student classroom (about 55 dB) measured the voice recognition rate of CE-SYS in order to improve, and adjustment of microphone input by a sound of subject oneself was executed afterwards. We got as for the testee of experiment four students A, not enrolled-B, enrolled-B, C, D and one crew of E. As a result we got the recognition rate as table 1.

The student enrolled-B,C and D, the recognition rate 100% were able to be achieved in this experiment but this is guessed with the result that the word registration was executed in oneself voice beforehand. The experiment in the engine control room that the recognition rate fell because the door from the engine room opened then the crew went in and out on the voyage sometimes added 100 dB sound noise from the working engine room. We understood that practical use was possible by the marketing software (Microsoft Via-Voice 98) of voice recognition technology from the mentioned above result if supporting input devices such as touch panel or a mouse controller are used jointly in the future.

6. CONCLUSION

The technique of simulation, it should be developed innovation continuously from old technology to be new one and it exceeds a generation, should be succeeded forever. Such technical tradition has been conveyed from old days from a parent to a child or a master to an apprentice hand down the techniques by following the example of others. In this research, we have proposed the agent system of the chief engineer who educate and support of the inexperienced engine room crew. We constructed CE-SYS prototype-1 and -2 which using a database of procedure of engine preparations to start and an interactive voice recognition function with the personal computer. The experiment was executed of a trainee in school training ship "Yuge maru" using the constructed prototype-1 as the result it understood that possibility of practical use was high level at the noise environment lower part except an engine room as it was shown in table-1.
