MARINE EMISSIONS LEGISLATION IN EUROPE - SUMMARY
・Establish/improve cooperation/coordination among legislative bodies
- within the EC DGs (inland waterways)
- among EC - CCNR - Lake Constance - IMO
- align with competing transportation means, e.g. railways.
・Legislators should actively contribute to ISO to ensure the broad applicabability of international standards.
・Coordinate introductory time schedules.
・Recognize certificates for identical engines even if used in different applications.
・Coordinate exhaust emission legislation with other requirements, for instance noise control, as it may significantly influence engine installation and operation.
