SPECIFIC CONCERNS:
・Mutual recognition of certificates may only be achieved by a multitude of bilateral government agreements.
・Multiple testing by Classification Societies should be avoided, but multiple witnessing (several Classes witnessing one test) is the procedure for the time being. IACS will be approached by Euromot to initiate the internal IACS process to evaluate the equivalency between the Classes.
・Mutual recognition at least between EU Member States should be achievable based on EU law - process initiated by Euromot.
・Stage II proposals postponed by MEPC44 as this would endanger the ratification process.
