Mr. Chairman suggested to take into account the a whole level of TC8 electronic communication systems and should use the appropriate version of software for all members of TC8.
Mr. Hopkins introduced the survey form of capability regarding the electronic communication systems in each participating countries of SC3.
Mr. Lars O. Nordal recommended that ISO/TC67 has a very sophisticated database, so it is suggested that the TC67 system be examined.
Mr. Ogo reported the improvement of the TC8 format regarding the 'Work Items under consideration in 8N 1000 based on N529.
It was supported by the majority to use this chart style format in the item of the 'Work Items under consideration' of 'SC Report on progress' of work in ISO/TC8/SCs instead of previous writing form.
It was agreed that the definition of 'work items under consideration', is only on going work items (does not iuclude 'Possible proposals for new work items')

・ 8 AG N531 User Guide to the ISO TC server
Mr. Ogo explained the outline of the ISO TC server for electronic communication in ISO based on 8AG N531.
Admiral Hopkins gave a detailed report of his experience regarding the use of ISO TC server in SC3 on a daily basis and recommended the TC8/SCs secretaries and the Chairpersons to participate the training session that will be held in December of this year at ISO/CS in GENEVA

Mr. Chairman pointed out the problems of SC4, which are resources, target dates, and other difficulties, because no action was taken and no progress in SC4 been found.
Therefore TC8 should go to the next step in order to respond to this and not to wait for a possible new convenor from Denmark nor to wait the participant from Germany. However, this is very delicate matter, but TC8 cannot afford to wait any longer.
Therefore, TC8 decided to send a possible advice to SC4 on its responsibility and request SC4 to proceed with the SC4 work which has been suspended and no action has been taken for a long time.
