8 AG N 536 - Exception reports on progress on ISO/TC 8/SC's

All ISO/TC 8/SC's have submitted the Exception Report without SC8. These written reports are introduced by the delegates from the responsible member bodies.

Mr. Ogo remarked that there are four additions on 8AG N 536, however Addition 1 should be scrapped and replaced to Addition 4.

 

SC1 Lifesaving and fire protection (USA)

The report is introduced by Mr. Hime without additional comment.

 

SC2 Marine environmental protection (USA)

The report is introduced by Mr. Hime without additional comment.

 

SC3 Piping and machinery (USA)

Admiral Hopkins gives a detailed report of SC3 activities.

He reports that the Marine Machinery Association, the Organization representing the USA for ANSI as Secretariat of ISO/TC8/SC3, will no longer serve in that role as of 2000-06-01. However the USA P-member representative stated that the USA will continue to fill the position of Secretariat.

 

SC4 Outfitting and deck machinery (China)

The Chairman reported that he has contacted SC4 Secretariat regarding with regard to the SC 4 W15516 - Launching appliances for davit - launched lifeboats to proceed as a CD. However no action has yet been taken.

The secretary of TC8 was requested to contact the SC4 secretary about circulation as CD ballot immediately, in accordance with the Resolutions in TC8/AG meeting in Tokyo.

 

SC5 Ships' bridge layout (Denmark)

The report is introduced by the Chairman of TC8 without additional comment.

 

SC6 Navigation (Japan)

The report is introduced by Mr. Koyama without additional comment.

 

SC7 Inland navigation vessels (Russian Federation)

The report is introduced by Mr. Chetyrikin.

Mr. Schade suggested that it could be helpful if SC7 secretariat would have communication with CE/TC15 secretariat.

 

SC9 General Requirements (Japan)

The report is introduced by Mr. Koyama, the Chairman of SC9.

The Chairman requests that the Chairman of SC9 should ask Mr. Campos (Portugal), the convenor of WG4, to proceed with the Sea Trial standard as final CD before TC8 plenary meeting in Gdansk. Because this standard is very much expected by industry side.

 

SC10 Computer Application (Norway)

The report is introduced by Mr. Robertsson, the Chairman of SC10, without additional comment.

 

SC11 Intermodal and short sea shipping

The report is introduced by the Chairman of TC8.
