2.3 To extend assistance consistent with its policies and capabilities to any member upon the latter's request;
2.4 To formulate a common stand on issues of interest to the AMETIAP related to maritime education, training, research and development;
2.5 To improve or assist in improving the services provided by memberes through the efficient and economic utilisation of resources;
2.6 To represent the general membership in its collective dealings with regional and international organisations;
2.7 To acquire, collate, process and disseminate relevant data and material of common interest to all members.
ARTICLE III: MEMBERS
Section 1 Composition
The AMETIAP shall be comprised of:
1.1 Members
being Founder Members signatories to this Constitution, and Other Members, individually or collectively comprising nationally recognised academies, schools, colleges, polytechnics, universities and other educational institutions providing maritime education and training to seafarers and others employed or seeking to be employed in maritime or maritime related activities;
1.2 Associate Members
being individuals, associations or other organisations which may not provide courses but can, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, promote the interests of maritime education, training and research;
1.3 Honorary Members
being individuals, associations or other organisations invited to join in such category of membership;
1.4 Business Members
being commercial or other organisations which wish to be affiliated with the AMETIAP and which provide financial or other support.
Section 2 Admission
2.1 An institution or organisation or group of such institutions shall be admitted as a Member or Associate Member of the AMETIAP upon concurrence of the Executive Committee.
Section 3 Obligations
The members shall to the best of their ability:
3.1 Attend meetings duly convened by the AMETIAP;
