第3回「大阪国際室内楽コンクール&フェスタ」が今回も華やかに開催されますことを心からお慶び申し上げます。
今回は、本コンクールの過去の輝かしい実績が高く評価された結果、国際音楽コンクール世界連盟に加盟が認められ、世界の一流コンクールの仲間入りをされて初めての記念すべきコンクールであり、心からお祝い申し上げます。
弦楽を中心に世界で活躍する若手音楽家の登竜門として定着してきたコンクール部門と、世界の民族楽器を取り入れ、伝統ある民族音楽にも枠を広げたフェスタ部門からなる本事業が大阪から世界へ発信する文化事業として確立されてきましたことは、文化首都をめざす大阪府にとりましても誠に意義深いことであります。
このコンクールの水準をここまで高められました、宇野会長をはじめとする大阪の財界の皆様、また日本室内楽振興財団の皆様方の並々ならぬご努力に深く敬意を表しますとともに、本事業が今後もわが国を代表する音楽文化振興事業として一層の発展を遂げられますことを祈念いたしまして、お祝いのことばとさせていただきます。
It is a great pleasure for me that the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition & Festa is being held for the third time.
As a result of its general critical acclaim, the Competition & Festa has joined other world-class events in the World Federation of Music Competitions. I would like to express my heart-felt congratulations, as this year's Competition is the first since it became a member of the Federation.
The Competition portion, with string music as its main section, represents a gateway to honors for young musicians who perform worldwide, whereas the Festa portion is open to folk instruments from all over the world, offering a setting for the performance of traditional folk music. The fact that the Competition & Festa has been established as an event that sends out a cultural message from Osaka to the whole world is a very meaningful tribute to Osaka Prefecture, which is seeking to become a cultural capital.
I would like to pay a special tribute to Mr.Uno, president of the 3rd Osaka International Chamber Music Competition & Festa; everyone in Osaka's business world, who have helped raise the level of the competition; and to the members of the Japan Chamber Music Foundation, for their extraordinary efforts in organizing this event. Finally, it is my sincerest wish that the Osaka Chamber Music Competition & Festa - one of the major musical and cultural events in Japan - will continue to grow.
