3年ごとに開かれている「大阪国際室内楽コンクール&フェスタ」が、第3回目を迎えるという画期的なこの催しが全世界の注目を浴び、年々盛んになっていることは誠に喜ばしいことです。
音楽の原点である室内楽の振興は、音楽活動の最も重要なものであり、この地味ながら、有意義な事業を継続して開催されている主催者はじめ関係者のご尽力に敬意を表するものです。私も指揮者として活動する以前1933年には「大阪室内楽協会」を設立し、ヴァイオリンやヴィオラ奏者として研鑚を積んだことが思い出されます。
この催事が益々発展されるよう願っております。
The triennial Osaka International Chamber Music Competition & Festa is now being held for the third time. It gives me great pleasure to know that the whole world is focusing its attention on this epoch-making event, which is growing year by year.
It is most important among all music activities to promote chamber music, the primeval form of music. I express my most sincere respect for the sponsors and organizers for continuing to hold this unobtrusive, but still very meaningful event. It recalls to me the times before I started my activities as a conductor, when I founded the Osaka Chamber Music Association in 1933 and was mastering as a violinist and viola performer. Let me express my wish that this event will progress even further.
