A harbour porpoise (PTT95-04) tagged during August 1995 with a small VHF (Model 2 VHF radio transmitter, 148-150 mHz, Advanced Telemetry Systems, Isanti, MN) and a Telonics (Mesa, AZ) ST-10 satellite transmitter. Both tags are attached to the dorsal fin of the animal, the former using a cattle ear tag and the latter using delrin pins. The double tagging technique allowed animals to be relocated and observed after their release. The porpoise is positioned on a foam pad in the capture boat just prior to being released.
