EXPRESSIONS OF APPRECIATION
The Brasilia Seminar and Workshop
NOTING:
・ the generous financial support provided by the Governments of Australia, Denmark, Greece, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Panama, the United Kingdom and the United States, the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), the International Mobile Satellite Organization (Inmarsat), the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and International Shipping Federation (ISF), the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO) and the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF);
・ the excellent organizational arrangements for the seminar and workshop made by the host Government and the International Maritime Organization; and
・ the high quality of the lectures delivered during the meeting,
1. EXPRESSES deep appreciation to the Government and people of Brazil for the welcome extended and kindness shown to all participants and for their generous hospitality and overall contribution to the success of the seminar and workshop;
2. EXPRESSES ALSO deep appreciation to the Governments of Australia, Denmark, Greece, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Panama, the United Kingdom and the United States, the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), International Mobile Satellite Organization (Inmarsat), the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and the International Shipping Federation (ISF), the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO) and the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF), for financially supporting the seminar and workshop;
3. CONVEYS its most heartfelt thanks to the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization for the highly successful seminar and workshop;
4. EXTENDS its sincere thanks to the lecturers for preparing and delivering excellent and very instructive lectures on their topics; to the chairmen of the workshop sessions; and to their Governments and international organizations for making them available;
5. EXTENDS ALSO sincere thanks to the UNDP Resident Representatives in the region for the assistance extended to participants;
6. REQUESTS the IMO Secretariat to convey these expressions of appreciation to all appropriate authorities and inform IMO's Maritime Safety Committee and other IMO bodies and international organizations concerned of the outcome of the seminar and workshop.
