Asia Oceanic Aviation Forum
The Asia Oceanic Aviation Forum started in January 1996 based on a proposal from Japan. The objective is to build and promote a cooperative system for international aviation areas within the region. Behind the establishment of this forum lies the perception that aviation authorities and corporations in countries in the region must strengthen cooperation to develop healthy aviation transportation services. The 2nd forum was held in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 1997, and the 3rd in Yokohama, Japan, in March 1998.
