Exception-Report of ISO/TC 8/SC 9 for the ISO/TC 8/AG Galati meeting
(1) NWIP: Standard practices for human engineering design of marine systems
As a result of SC 9 members' voting, it was agreed that this item proposed by the U.S. should be considered a SC 9's work item. However, the number of countries expressing their desire of participating positively in the draft preparation work was no more than 4. Therefore, according to the provisions of the ISO Directives, Part 1, 2.3.5, this item was not accepted. Then, the SC 9 secretariat communicated this fact to the U.S., together with the opinions sent by the SC 9 members. At the same time, the secretariat communicated the voting result to SC 9 members.
(2) NWIP: Floating pneumatic rubber fender
The item "ship fender", reported at the TC 8 Maldon meeting held last year, was renamed "floating pneumatic rubber fender". It is now under circulation to SC 9 members for voting for an NWIP (closing date of the voting:1999-03-31).
(3) PWI: Guide for planning, carrying out and reporting sea trials
In order to have the subject matter proposed as an NWIP of SC 9 in accordance with ISO/TC 8 resolution 166, the SC 9 secretariat asked Mr.Campos, the convener of this item, to prepare documents necessary for NWIP and send them to the same secretariat (see Annex). To date, the SC 9 secretariat has not received these documents from Mr.Campos.
