Subject: Sea trials
Dear Mr.Campos,
The SC 9 secretariat has been requested to submit a new work item proposal (NWIP) for the sake of preparing an ISO standard for "Sea Trials", in accordance with Resolution 166 developed at the ISO/TC 8's 17th plenary meeting held on 12 and 13 October 1998 in Maldon, U.K. (see attached material).
Accordingly, the SC 9 secretariat wishes you, appointed as the convener of the subject item, to prepare the papers necessary for offering a new work item proposal on "Sea Trials" as shown below, and send this secretariat those papers.
1. NWIP form (ISO FORM 4)
The FORM with signs marked in the spaces where you are requested to enter particulars, and a sample of the FORM already completed are enclosed herewith. Therefore, we suggest you fill out the necessary items in appropriate spaces, by referring to these entries.
2. The draft on "Sea Trials" to be attached to NWIP.
As soon as we, the SC 9 secretariat, obtain the above papers from you, we will launch the voting arrangements to make this item into the work item of SC 9.
In addition to it, we will establish SC 9/WG 4, which has this item within its scope, immediately after the approval for making the item into SC 9's work item has been obtained in accordance with the provisions of 2.3.5 of the ISO Directives.
We are looking forward to receiving the above papers from you.
Yours Sincerely,
S.Arikawa
