Where there is no such official as designated under the preceding paragraph, a senior administrative official designated by regulation of the ordinary local public body shall act for him/her.

 

(Delegation)

 

Article 153.

The chief executive may delegate a portion of his/her power to a designated official, or empower such official to act for him/her temporarily.

The chief executive may delegate a portion of his/her power to his/her administrative agency under his/her jurisdiction.

 

(Direction and Supervision)

 

Article 154.

The chief executive shall direct and supervise his/her staff.

 

(Annulment and Suspension)

The chief executive may annul or suspend the action taken by his/her administrative agency under his/her jurisdiction in case the action is contrary to law, bylaw or rule.

 

(Branch Office, etc.)

 

Article 155.

The governor of To, Do, Fu or Ken or the mayor of a city, town or village may, by bylaw, establish at a necessary place a branch office (including hereinafter a detached station of a branch office in Do) and a local office or a district office and a detached station respectively, in order to decentralize the affairs within his/her power.

 

2.

The location, name and jurisdiction of a branch office or local office or a district office or detached station shall be prescribed by bylaw.

 

3.

The provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 4 shall apply mutatis mutandis to such location and jurisdiction of a branch office or local office or a district office or detached station.

 

(Administrative Organs)

 

Article 156.

The chief executive shall, in accordance with laws or bylaws, establish health offices, police stations or other administrative organs, in addition to those referred to in paragraph 1 of the preceding article.

 

2.

The locations, names and jurisdictions of such administrative organs shall be prescribed by bylaw.
