アントニオ・ストラデイヴァリが1736年に製作したもので、ラベルにはストラデイヴァリ本人の手書きにより「92歳の作品」と書かれている珍しい楽器です。ストラデイヴァリが追い求め続けた音色を持つといわれる、最後の楽器として知られています。透明な黄褐色のエスが楽器のほぼ全体に綺麗に残っており、楽器の保存状態も音色も格段に優れているため、大変貴重なものです。1874年以降英国のムンツ氏が所有していたため、「ムンツ」と呼ばれています。1997年7月に購入いたしました。
Stradivarius 1736 Violin "Muntz"
This violin was made by Antonio Stradivari in 1736. The label in this instrument bears an inscription, "92 years old", written by Stradivari himself. It is one of the last few works of his masterpiece ever produced. The condition of this violin is exceptional because it has been handed down through the caring hands throughout its history. Its tonal quality also has a first class reputation. This instrument bears the name from its ownership by the famous English collector Mr. H. M. Muntz of Birmingham in late 1800s. NMF purchased it in July 1997.
