1975年、コペンハーゲン生まれ。ニコライ・ズナイダーはデンマークの王立音楽アカデミーのミラン・ヴィテック教授及びニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院にてドロシー・ディレイ教授に師事。ピンカス・ズッカーマンやアイザック・スターンなどのマスター・クラスも多数受講している。ヨーロッパ、イスラエル、米国、アジア各地にて世界的に主要なオーケストラ・指揮者との共演、ソロ・リサイタル、室内楽演奏など各種の演奏活動を行っている。国際的な演奏活動に加えて、1994年より現在、ウィーン音楽院にてボリス・クシュナーに師事。
1991年メニューイン国際ヴァイオリンコンクール、第4回カール・ニールセン国際音楽コンクールなどを初めとする多数のコンクールの受賞者である。1993年にはデンマーク音楽評論家協会より年間最優秀アーテイスト賞を受賞。1996年にはヘルシンキの第7回シベリウス国際ヴァイオリン・コンクールにて第3位を受賞。
1997年ベルギー王妃国際音楽コンクール・ヴァイオリン部門にて優勝。その特賞として、日本音楽財団より4年間ストラディヴァリウス「ハギンス」が貸与された。
Nikolaj Znaider (Violinist)
Nikolaj Znaider captivated an international audience with his performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto at the 1997 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. Heralded by Lord Menuhin as "the Successor to Ysaye", Znaider was awarded the First Prize at this prestigious contest.
Born to Polish-Israeli parents in Denmark in 1975, Znaider began his violin studies with Professor Milan Vitek at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. After winning the First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition 1992, Nikolaj Znaider pursued further training with Dorothy DeLay at The Juilliard School of Music. Since 1994 he has been studying with the renowned violin pedagogue Boris Kuschnir at the Vienna Conservatory.
Much in demand as both soloist and recitalist, last season, Znaider has had major appearances throughout the world. He is also invited to perform chamber music with Mischa Maisky, Yefim Bronfman and Elena Bashkirova in the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival this year.
