MIZUKI Trash Collecting Ship
Mitsui Engineering & Ship building Co., Ltd.'s Tamano Works delivered MIZUKI a trash collecting ship to Thread Port Construction Bureau of Ministry of Transport in January 1998. The MIZUKI is being used to collect and dispose of drifting trash in order to keep the seas clean.
Features
1. The MIZUKI, which has a catamaran hull, is equipped with an in-tow trash collecting container (total collecting capacity: 50m3 ) and a flexible crane with log glove and chain saw in order to handle drifting logs.
2. All deck machinery, not only the mooring winch but also the deck crane, are controlled by the remote control system.
3. The vessel has a CPP type propeller to realize high speed for transit condition and very low speed at drifting trash-collecting condition.
4. The vessel is equipped with the Mitsui Joy Stick Control System to assist maneuverability in harbor and during drifting trash-collecting work.
