DEIRA 3,802-TEU Panamax Type Container Ship
The 3,802-TEU DEIRA, the most advanced lift-on/lift-off container ship built at Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Sakaide Works, for United Arab Shipping Co., was delivered in September 1998.
The ship is the third of four sister ships.
Features
1. The ship can load 3,802-TEU containers on the base of 4 tiers on deck. It is designed to load 40-foot containers/20-foot containers in 11 rows stacked 8 tiers in holds, and in 13 rows stacked 4 tiers on deck.
2. The ship can carry 360 x 20/40-foot refrigerated containers (air cooled) on deck.
3. Dangerous cargo containers, excluding explosives, can be loaded in holds.
4. The main engine is the latest fuelefficient Kawasaki-MAN B&W 10L80MC, which is installed for energy saving.
5. The ship is provided with a high-skew propeller and damp tank which allow the ship to navigate very quietly.
