HARAMACHI MARU 90,000-dwt Coal Carrier
The 90,000-dwt coal carrier HARAMACHI MARU or dered by Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Ltd. (NYK) was completed on October 3, 1997 at the Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI).
The vessel is designed to meet requirements for transporting coal to the Haramachi Thermal Power Station of Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc.
Features:
1. Has double-hull construction; no members protrude into cargo spaces.
2. Inclined hatch coaming is provided for high efficiency in cargo loading and unloading.
3. The long-stroke, low-revoluting main engine drives a diameter propeller; and MHI Reaction Fin is equipped to improve propulsive performance.
