KEN ANN 32,000-dwt Semi-open Hatch Log/Bulk Carrier
KEN ANN designed and built by Onomichi Dockyard as a handy-size log/bulk carrier with three semi-open hatch and box shaped holds that enhance cargo handling efficiency for bagged rice, containers, lumber and rolled steel coils in addition to general bulk cargo.
The vessel is designed to comply with MO-B notation and is equipped with remote control system of ballasting, deck machinery, etc.
The deadweight at scantling draft of 10.4m is 32,000-dwt, which is the biggest in tonnage as well as in cargo capacity of 41,000m3 among these handy-size class log/bulk carriers.
Cargo handling is operated by 4 sets of 30-ton electro-hydraulic deck cranes, and each of the wide hatch covers of the end folding type is operated by hydraulic oil cylinders.
The vessel is powered by Mitsubishi 6UEC52LA with a higher energy efficiency, and designed for service speed of 14.5 knots.
