GLOBAL OJI 3,600,000 cub.ft Wooden Chip Carrier
The 3,600,000 cubic feet wooden chip carrier, GLOBAL OJI was constructed at Maizuru Works of Hitachi Zosen Corporation and delivered to Harmony Maritime Management Inc. in June 1998.
Features
1. The vessel has a bulbous bow, a transom stern and an aft sunken deck. The engine room and the accommodation space are located aft.
2. The vessel has six cargo holds and No.4 cargo hold is also used as a water ballast tank. The double-bottom space of the hold section is used for water ballast tanks and fuel oil tanks.
3. The wooden chip unloading equipment has a capacity of 975 t/h and consists of three deck cranes with orange peel type grab bucket, four fixed type cargo hoppers with feeder conveyor, No.1 belt conveyor is located on upper deck and No.2 belt conveyor and shuttle conveyor in the conveyor room.
4. The optimized hull form and Hitachi Zosen Super Stream Duct fitted before the propeller are adopted for improvement in propulsive efficiency and fuel oil saving.
