MIMOSA DREAM 3,609,814-cub.ft Chip Carrier
The MIMOSA DREAM, a woodchip carrier with carrying capacity of 3,609,814 cubic feet was delivered in January 1997 to Trans European Shipping Inc. by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The MIMOSA DREAM is the one of the 3.6 million-cubic ft type standard woodchip carriers developed by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The vessel has six cargo holds and double-bottom water ballast tanks. No. 4 cargo hold is also used as a ballast tank.
Fuel oil tanks are arranged in double-bottom tanks, but no fuel oil tank is arranged in way of ballast hold.
The hull form of MIMOSA DREAM is specially developed from the Tsuneishi Economical Standard Ships (TESS) for the woodchip carrier with special stern form for good maneuvering.
The woodchip unloading system of 975 mt/hr has deck cranes with orange peel type grab buckets, fixed hoppers with feeder conveyors, a transfer conveyor arranged along the ship's side on upper deck and a shuttle conveyor in the conveyor room. Wide enough hatch covers of end folding type (No. 1, 2, 3, 5 -16.00m x 18.72 m, No. 4 - 11.20m x 18.72 m, No. 6 - 16.80m x 18.72 m) are installed to improve unloading and loading efficiency.
