The 30,000-dwt bulk carrier FORTUNE EXPRESS, constructed at Setoda Works of Naikai Zosen Corporation, was delivered to Solar Overseas Carriers Inc. on March 30, 1998.
Features
1. A single-deck, diesel-powered, single-screw bulk carrier with a forecastle and with the engine room arranged aft.
2. Cargo space is divided into five holds for the stowage of various dry bulk items including grain, steel, lumber and coal.
3. The vessel is equipped with four 30-ton deck cranes to enhance cargo handling efficiency.
4. The hatch covers are steel-built, weatertight, and folding box type units.
5. The No. 3 cargo hold can also be used as a ballast tank in rough weather.
