GLOBAL ESCORT 28,000-dwt Handy Bulk Carrier
GLOBAL ESCORT has been ompleted at The akodate Dock Co. Ltd. in May, 1998.
The ship is the 5th of the series of 28,100-dwt handy-size bulk carrier originally designed by the company and is the 2rid ship to be built under the rules and regulations of Korean Register of Shipping (KR) in the yard.
The ship has the following features to bring out the ship's excellent performances such as efficient cargo handling, sufficient cargo loading space and satisfactory hull strength.
Features
1. Nos. 2, 3 & 4 holds are designed with double-hull structure having square corners at lower part in the holds but top-side tanks are still retained in the upper part entirely through all cargo holds. This structure is very useful for maintaining enough longitudinal hull strength.
2. For the purpose of obtaining larger hold capacity as much as possible, Nos. 1 & 5 holds are designed as ordinary type hold with top-side tanks and lower hopper tanks.
3. That all cargo holds can accept a wide range of cargoes including steel coils, has been highly evaluated by the ship's owners.
