ANTILLANCA 46,200-dwt Handymax Bulk Carrier
The 46,200-dwt ANTILLANCA is the 1st vessel in a series of Oshima New Super Handymax Bulk Carrier built by Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. She was delivered in April 1998 to Cobre Maritime Inc.
The design allows variety of cargoes to be handled, such as copper concentrate, coal, grain, ore and hot coils.
The vessel has large deadweight tonnage of 46,570 MT and cargo volume of 58,209m3 among such handy-max type bulk carriers.
By effective arrangement and structure, this vessel has long hold clearance of about 29.7m in length and wide and long hatch opening (19.8m length x 15.6m breadth) to cope with the several kinds of cargoes mentioned above.
The ANTILLANCA has a bulbous bow, stern bulb, semiskewed propeller to improve propulsion efficiency and reduce hull vibrations. The vessel is equipped with four electro-hydraulically driven deck cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 25 tons and grab handling facilities.
