SOUBI MARU 4,999-dwt Tanker
The 4,999-dwt tanker SOUBI MARU jointly ordered by Corporation For Advanced Transport & Technology, Uyeno Transtech Ltd. and Uyeno System K. K. was completed, and delivered on October 16, 1997 at Setoda Works of Naikai Zosen Corporation to its tanker co-owners.
Features
1. The vessel's cargo space is partitioned into 10 cargo tanks to carry naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, light oil and other oil products.
To save labor and reduce crew complement, a computerized automatic control system is provided in the central control room, and the loading and unloading of cargo oil and ballast are remotely controlled either automatically or manually from the central control room.
2. The engine room is unmanned and remotely controlled from the central control room or the wheelhouse to ensure safe navigation.
3. The Vectwin rudders and a bow thruster are provided for labor saving in berthing and unberthing operation.
4. Every crew member is allocated a fully air conditioned private cabin equipped with a TV set and a refrigerator. In addition to bath rooms, showers and a sauna are also provided. For crew members to relax in off-duty hours, there is a Japanese-style (tatami-matted) room, provided with a "laser karaoke"system.
5. A propeller boss cap fin (PBCF) is adopted to improve propulsive efficiency and performance.
