FORMOSA ELEVEN 36,234-dwt Chemical Carrier
FORMOSA ELEVEN, 36,234-dwt chemical carrier, the third sister ship, was constructed by Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SSK) in June 1998 and delivered to Formosa Plastics Maritime Corporation.
The ship was designed and built to carry IMO-type II&III chemicals and petroleum products. The cargo tank part was designed to load heavy cargoes of SG 1.26, consisting of seven pairs of main tanks and a pair of slop tanks, which are protected by double side and double bottom.
The cargo tanks are coated by inorganic zinc paint, and equipped with an hydraulic motor driven submerged type pump for each cargo tank.
Aft of the cargo part, a separate compartment is arranged for accommodating tank cleaning pumps and water ballast pumps.
