PEGADEN/ PERTAMINA 1024 17,500-dwt Product Carrier
Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SSK) has delivered PEGADEN/PERTAMINA 1024, a 17,500-dwt product carrier, to Kwarta Ocean S. A. (Panama) in August, 1998. PEGADEN/ PERTAMINA 1024 was designed to carry light and heavy petroleum products, such as gasoline, diesel oil, naphtha, heavy fuel oil, etc., and has now entered service in the Southeast Asia region.
Features
SSK has developed special hull form for this ship using the tank test facility to obtain a shallow draft less than seven meters even under loaded conditions, which allows entry of ports in this region.
The double-hull construction was adopted for safety of cargo tanks, which complies with requirements of MARPOL regulations.
Mild steel is used for the entire hull construction. Cargo tank arrangement consists of five pairs of main cargo tanks and a pair of slop tanks. Tank inner surfaces are coated with a very thick pure epoxy paint. The thermal-oil tank heating system is installed. Cargo oil and ballast water pumps as well as main valves can be remotely controlled from the cargo control room located in the aft living quarters.
