Amendment to draft MSC resolution
4 To incorporate this additional sector Into the proposal agreed at NAV 43, a few minor amendments are required to the MSC draft resolution (NAV 43/15, annex 8). These amendments indicated in bold italics, reflect the enhancements introduced by Singapore since the Sub-Committee's endorsement of the STRAITREP ship reporting system and do not change the concept and procedures of the original proposal endorsed by NAV 43.
.1 Section 2 paragraph 2.1, in the 3rd sentence delete word "eight" and insert "nine":
"2.1 .. The area is divided into nine sectors; each has an assigned VHF channel as shown in appendix 3."
.2 Section 3 paragraph 3.2.3.3, in line 2, insert words "or sector 9" after "sector 8":
"3.3 ..reaching sector 7, sector 8 or sector 9 as appropriate report by giving.."
.3 Section 3 paragraph 3.2.4 (iii) delete "and 8" and insert "to Sector 9" to read:
"(iii) Sector 7 to Sector 9-Singapore VTS"
.4 Remove existing APPENDIX 1, and APPENDIX 2 and insert new "APPENDIX 1" and "APPENDIX 2" as attached at annex.
.5 APPENDIX 3, in row sector8 delete Channel 10 and insert "VHF Channel 14" and add another row after Sector 8 to read:

Action requested of the Committee
5 The Committee is invited to consider the above proposals and incorporate the amendments in the proposed Mandatory Ship Reporting System in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore (STRAITREP) when adopting it.
