In the process of monitoring the progress of work, the following points should be considered.
・If the project fails to progress as expected, it is essential to determine the underlying cause and take corrective measures immediately. If necessary, a revision in the plan itself might be considered.
・If there is a discrepancy in opinions or a conflict of interests in the office, the supervisor must take every effort to restore the harmony. Activity in the office should be conducted in a harmonious atmosphere if the target is to be accomplished.
・If problems arise in connection with other sections, it is essential to determine the underlying cause. Once the root has been clarified, the supervisor must choose with whom to negotiate and follow this through until the situation has cleared.
5 Evaluation
On completion of the project, a review must be undertaken to confirm whether or not the expected results have been achieved. To accurately reflect the implementation of the plan, the entire process should be analyzed, reviewed and evaluated from every possible angle.
In evaluating the process, the following points should be considered.
(1) Come to a realistic understanding
It is essential to understand the results and current situation for what they actually are.
(2) Evaluate the current situation against the objectives and the plan
It is essential to evaluate work progress against the expectations of the original objectives and plan. Evaluation by a supervisor alone is not effective. Group evaluation among members of staff is much more preferable.
(3) Build on the results to create the next plan of action
The information acquired in the course of the evaluation should be shared among staff so that they may make use of the evaluation results to construct the following target and plan.
