2-9 Report Making

 

Report making is an important means of communication in any organization. Instruction as a method employed by senior officials to communicate to junior members of staff is the vice versa of report making. Supervisors must accurately understand how work is being done through reports from employees and make appropriate plans based on these reports. Supervisors must guide their staff as to how to report effectively, while at the same time provide reports to their own managers.

2-10 Meetings

 

Various meetings are held in every office for the purpose of communication. There are, however, many meaningless meetings where matters that have already been decided upon without any consultation are discussed for the sake of a consensus or where too many people with little relevance to the agenda of the meeting are called in. Meetings are an important and effective medium of communication but since many people are involved, the administration of the meeting itself must be effective and efficient.

Office equipment may be the first thing that comes to mind when we consider the efficiency of work. Office equipment is an indispensable factor in work efficiency. There are some cases, however, where office equipment once introduced, is not made use of properly or is left idle because of poor maintenance.
